Phyllis Mary (Knowles) Chambers
SAINT ALBANS – Phyllis Mary (Knowles) Chambers, 85, died November 19, 2013 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born June 24, 1928 in Dover, New Hampshire, a daughter of Crosby and Leona (Deag) Knowles. After graduating from high school she met and married Kenneth E. Chambers. In addition to being a very family oriented mother and wife she was the bookkeeper for Chambers Farms in St. Albans and Corinna. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and past member of the Corinna Grange. Phyllis will be remembered as a talented craftsperson, and will especially be remembered for her art and gardens.

In addition to her husband of St. Albans, she is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth M. and wife Brenda of Pennsylvania, Frederick and wife Terry of Corinna; 2 daughters, Karen and husband Hal Hutchins, Deborah and husband Tim Bagley, both of St. Albans; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 very special nieces, Mary (Day) Willey and Jane (Day) Huggins. We wish to extend a special thank you to Jane and Mary for being there for mom and us all. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Phyllis was predeceased by 2 children, Judith Ann and Jeffery Chambers; a sister Patricia Day, who was her very close friend as well; and 2 brothers, Norman and Arthur Knowles.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 23rd, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Burial will be in the Corinna Village Cemetery.
